Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to coordinate, schedule, and execute preventative maintenance programs and scheduled maintenance shutdowns of equipment. The role involves repairing and maintaining plant machinery and equipment such as compressors, pouch machines, and printing presses.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and complete preventative maintenance programs and scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
• Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment, including compressors, pouch machines, and printing presses.
• Repair or replace PLCs, cylinders, switches, sensors, pushbuttons, and heater cartridges.
• Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
• Set up and operate all production machines.
• Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment components.
• Manage and maintain inventory of machine parts and components.
• Maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service technicians.
• Participate in plant safety, quality, and continuous improvement events.
• Identify, suggest, and implement approved improvements to equipment or processes.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in pneumatics, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Expertise in safety procedures, PLC troubleshooting, press maintenance, and electrical maintenance.
• Experience in HVAC systems, PLC control, safety analysis, lockout/tag out procedures, and project management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience on industrial machinery systems.
• 1-3 years of safety experience.
• 1-3 years of experience with Excel and safety analysis programs.
• 3 years of industrial electrical and mechanical experience.
• 1-2 years of experience reading and comprehending blueprints.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Flexible packaging experience.
• Experience in medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
• Bilingual skills.

Work Environment

Work in a clean environment with occasional sterile packaging lines requiring gowning. As the sole Maintenance Technician, collaborate with the Press Supervisor to troubleshoot and solve problems. Machines are older and require quick thinking and adaptability without manuals.

This is a Permanent position based out of Niles, IL.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Niles,IL.
