Work Environment & Schedule
This role is based in a modern, renovated office environment with a traditional cubicle layout and convenient access to nearby dining options. The position follows a hybrid schedule, with in‑office work on Wednesdays and Thursdays and remote work on the remaining three days. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Process, prioritize, and complete daily pricing requests for new and existing customers, ensuring adherence to assigned deadlines, service‑level agreements, and scope of responsibility by mode, product, or trade lane.
- Review pricing requests for compliance with internal operational policies, including restricted or prohibited commodities and embargoed destinations, prior to submission.
- Document all pricing activities thoroughly to ensure clear communication and seamless handoff to operational teams once pricing is awarded.
- Track and report monthly performance against established objectives and key performance indicators, providing visibility to management.
- Maintain ongoing communication with network offices and internal stakeholders to ensure accessorial charges and pricing details remain accurate and current.
- Partner with leadership and peers to identify process improvements, best practices, and trends that contribute to improved pricing performance and win rates.
- Develop proficiency in company pricing tools, systems, and reporting platforms to support accurate and efficient pricing execution.
- Assist with assigned process enhancements and related projects as needed.
- Perform additional duties in support of pricing and operational objectives as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Air Freight operations or pricing.
- Solid foundational understanding of pricing methodologies and transportation cost structures.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- Strong data entry skills, including experience with 10‑key input.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Customer‑focused mindset with a dependable, detail‑oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with pricing administration, invoicing, Outlook, and Excel.
- Experience in Air Freight pricing and international logistics operations.
- Exposure to global freight forwarding environments and trade lane management.
- Basic mathematical competency relevant to transportation and logistics calculations.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
This is a Permanent position based out of Palatine, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
