Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer

This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team responsible for the development of an innovative product and new manufacturing processes. The position is for a 3-year contract with the potential to transition to permanent employment anytime after one year. You will initiate, justify, and implement advanced capital equipment purchases, create cell layouts, and lead high-complexity process improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Initiate, justify, and implement new advanced capital equipment purchases.
  • Create cell layouts and lead process improvement initiatives of high complexity.
  • Lead Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Control Plan Reviews.
  • Utilize solid concepts of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and implement them into new product development.

Essential Skills

  • Manufacturing engineering expertise.
  • Tooling and CNC knowledge.
  • BS in Engineering highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in the field.
  • Experience in a machining/CNC environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • CNC Programming experience is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of capabilities studies and machine capability.
  • Solid understanding of machinery related to electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to specify equipment and procure capital.
  • Solid understanding of product drawings, including GD&T and specification flow down.
  • Experience with Turing/milling equipment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Okuma 5 axis mill term, Swiss precision machinery, and Makino 2-4 axis mills is advantageous.
  • Experience with Gleason grinding equipment is a plus.
  • Tooling/Fixturing design knowledge.
  • PLC programming or automation experience is highly preferred.
