Job Title: Process Planner
Job Description
The Process Planner is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes in the plant. The role involves developing and improving manufacturing methods by utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment capabilities. Collaboration with the design staff is essential to ensure efficient production methods.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve manufacturing methods to optimize production.
- Collaborate with design staff on product design and tooling for efficient production.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and costs for management decisions.
- Work with management, engineering, and other staff to facilitate production processes.
- Create routings for new products.
- Prepare price quotations for machining based on material, labor costs, and manufacturing processes.
- Communicate with customers, machinists, inspectors, engineers, sales, and quality personnel to address defective material.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in process planning.
- Experience in routing a part.
- Knowledge of routings, job shop, process planning, machine tool, and heat treat.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a job shop environment is preferred.
- Fixture design experience is a plus.
- BS in Engineering is a plus, ideally in Manufacturing.
- GD&T experience is beneficial.
- CNC programmer looking to transition from programming is a good fit.
Work Environment
The work environment is a job shop setting, focusing on the manufacture of one-off products like Grid plates and Tombstones for CNC mills.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.50/hr.
