Job Title: MIG Welder
Job Description
The Welder is responsible for fabricating and welding metal components according to blueprints and specifications. This role involves operating welding equipment, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining a safe work environment. Parts Welders perform MIG welding on various parts such as leg stands, cab shields, engine mounts, and light bars. Additionally, they perform MIG tack welding to hold two pieces of steel together before finishing welds. Finishing VBOX Hopper Spreaders Welders execute cosmetic MIG welds visible on the finished products, including straight line and both in-position and out-of-position MIG welds, which are known for their complexity and require consistent execution.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld metal components according to blueprints and specifications.
- Perform MIG welding on parts like leg stands, cab shields, engine mounts, and light bars.
- Execute MIG tack welding to hold steel pieces in place before final welding.
- Conduct cosmetic MIG welds for finished products, ensuring aesthetic quality.
- Operate welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect welds visually to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with other welders, fabricators, and engineers to complete projects.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques, including welding on steel and possibly aluminum.
- Experience welding stainless steel with thickness ranging from 14g to 3/4" plate.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Fabrication skills, including cutting, grinding, and fitting metal parts before welding.
- Experience in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely.
- Around 2-3 years of experience working as a welder in a manufacturing environment or a graduate from a welding trade school.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Manual dexterity with steady hands and good hand-eye coordination.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and work in various positions.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices, including the use of PPE and hazard recognition.
- Attention to detail for precision in measurements and weld quality.
- Strong time management skills to meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
- Teamwork and problem-solving skills to collaborate and address welding or fabrication issues.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
