Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to oversee the design and coordination of mechanical systems across multiple projects. You will serve as a client-facing engineer, collaborating closely with project managers and stakeholders. Your role will involve developing detailed construction documents, including drawings and specifications for HVAC, plumbing, controls, and specialty piping systems. Additionally, you will conduct construction administration tasks such as reviewing submittals and managing design revisions during construction. You will also perform system calculations, equipment selection, and layout development from schematic design through construction documents. A key responsibility will be researching and applying relevant building codes and standards to ensure compliance. Effective coordination with other engineering disciplines, architects, and contractors is essential to deliver integrated and successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate mechanical systems across multiple projects.

Essential Skills

• Experience in MEP design and building systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Background in HVAC and plumbing design for buildings.
• 3+ years of experience in the field.
• Knowledge of fire protection.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily office-based (95%) with occasional travel to project locations. Engineers are set up in a collaborative 'pit' setting. The team comprises tenured staff with over 30 years of experience. The workday is from 8 AM to 5 PM with a 1-hour lunch break. The company has a small team of 15-20 employees.
