As a Welder and Fabricator, you will work from drawings, layouts, and sketches to plan and lay out work, determine and select materials and gauges of metals. You will lay out sheets or structural materials to very close tolerances to achieve the desired length or form. You will also set up and operate various types of metalworking equipment, such as Mechanical Shear, CNC Press Brakes, CNC Hydraulic Saw, CNC Dual head saw, CNC punch Press, Power rolling equipment, and other machinery necessary for fabricating sheet metal parts and welded assemblies.
Responsibilities- Make complex setups of special machines, adjust strokes and safety devices, and ensure proper operation.
- Detect faulty materials, draw attention to excessive or recurring defects, and notify supervision of unusual equipment and operating problems.
- Perform Stick, MIG, and TIG welding.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Willingness to be trained on all machines and types of welding.
- 3+ years of welding and fabrication experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Experience with welding and/or CNC machining, Press brake, MIG welder, Assembly, TIG welding, and Punch press.
- Experience with fabrication, sheet metal, calipers, and brake operations.
The facility operates with over 500 employees and is divided among three separate unions. There are two openings available, one for the 1st shift from 6am to 2:30pm and another for the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:30pm.
