Job Title: Test Engineer Technician

Job Description

The Test Engineer Technician plays a crucial role in applying standard test techniques and procedures to bring new products to production with quality, ensuring production goals are met. You will identify problems and risks affecting test sets, perform preventive and corrective maintenance to maintain optimal conditions, and work to continually improve test processes and manufacturing test systems. This role requires developing clear objectives for assignments that may involve investigating several alternative solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Operations and Company policies.
  • Communicate safety hazards to Operations Managers.
  • Communicate issues with the test sets to Test Engineers.
  • Enter Purchase Orders in the procurement system.
  • Maintain a presence on the production floor to address challenges and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and troubleshoot test set problems, conducting root cause analysis.
  • Propose alternative solutions to fix production test sets and perform necessary repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production test sets.
  • Seek opportunities to improve yields, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Support root cause analysis of customer rejects and implement test process changes.
  • Suggest procedural changes to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Support CAR resolution and OFI implementation.
  • Keep production supervisors, technicians, and operators informed on important test process controls.
  • Participate in projects to implement changes for quality improvement and cost reduction.
  • Support and document changes to test solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologies.
  • 3+ years of related work experience.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with test equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital multimeters.
  • Experience working with basic testing tools and performing corrective actions, such as soldering and replacing components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot at a system level.
  • Strong electrical aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in printed circuit board manufacturing, SMT placement, or soldering is preferred.
  • General PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and G Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Proactive approach with all departments and organization.
  • Ability to communicate and work closely with customers.
