Job Title: Panel Builder / Electrical Technician
Job Description
This first-shift Panel Builder / Electrical Technician role focuses on safely and efficiently assembling powered hydraulic, lube oil, and diesel fuel filtration systems, including building and wiring UL 508A compliant control panels. You will create or interpret electrical schematics and bills of materials, assemble panels and related systems, and perform functional testing to ensure each unit meets or exceeds customer expectations. The position combines hands-on mechanical and electrical assembly with detailed documentation and quality-focused work in a clean, air-conditioned manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently assemble powered hydraulic, lube oil, and diesel fuel filtration systems.
- Build and wire electrical control panels in accordance with UL 508A standards.
- Understand and implement UL 508A standards in panel designs and assembly practices.
- Create UL-compliant electrical schematics for powered filtration systems using CAD software when required.
- Create bills of materials (BOMs) and clear work instructions to support panel and system assembly.
- Interpret and follow assembly drawings to correctly manufacture panels and filtration systems.
- Perform both light and heavy assembly work as required for each project.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized measuring tools to ensure assemblies are dimensionally accurate per drawings.
- Form and bend metal tubing to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Wire panels and filtration systems according to schematics and blueprints.
- Perform functional testing of powered filtration systems in accordance with customer specifications.
- Follow all standard work practices and standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
- Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work independently for most tasks while collaborating effectively with a small team of assemblers when needed.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, and reliability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Perform a variety of tasks throughout the day, adapting to changing priorities and production needs.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 years of control panel building experience (required).
- Experience building control panels to UL 508A standards, preferably 3 years (preferred).
- Current UL MTR Certification to 508A or the ability to obtain it (required).
- Proven panel building experience with hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics and assembly drawings.
- Strong assembly skills, including both light and heavy assembly tasks.
- Ability to interpret and work from blueprints.
- Proficiency in basic plumbing and assembly skills related to filtration systems.
- Ability to perform panel wiring and system wiring accurately and safely.
- Competence using hand tools, power tools, and specialized measuring tools.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to work independently as the primary panel builder while collaborating with a small team.
- Capacity to perform a variety of tasks safely in a fast-paced work environment.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to create UL-compliant electrical schematics for powered filtration systems using CAD software.
- Ability to create detailed bills of materials (BOMs) and work instructions.
- Experience with hydraulic assembly and hydraulic systems.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Experience with panel wiring and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD tools for schematic creation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and reporting.
- Comfort working with plumbing connections associated with filtration systems.
- Strong teamwork skills to work toward common production and quality goals.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, UL-compliant panels and systems.

Work Environment
This role is based in a very clean, quiet, and air-conditioned manufacturing facility that produces hydraulic fuel filtration products commonly used in heavy machinery and mining applications. You will work primarily on first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Most tasks are performed independently as the primary panel builder, while you also collaborate with a small team of four to five heavy assemblers. The dress code is casual and practical—jeans, a T-shirt, and closed-toe shoes are appropriate. Personal protective equipment is required, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and a high-visibility vest. The environment is fast-paced yet organized, with a strong emphasis on safety, adherence to standard operating procedures, and maintaining a neat and orderly work area while using hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and CAD-based documentation.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anderson, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
