Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic will focus on mechanical repairs and troubleshooting of equipment. Responsibilities include repairing conveyor systems, mobile equipment like forklifts and skid steers, and performing light fabrication tasks. The role involves 95% mechanical work and 5% electrical work, with a focus on preventive maintenance (PM) over reactive maintenance (RM).
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, including swapping out drives and 3-phase motors.
- Repair mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steers, including replacing hydraulic hoses and changing hydraulic cylinders.
- Perform light fabrication on skid steers.
- Change out blades and augers on shredder machines.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on conveyor systems and mobile equipment.
- Document all preventive maintenance and make notes on visual inspections to plan future repairs.
Essential Skills
- 4+ years of mechanic or industrial maintenance experience.
- General hydraulic and pneumatic experience, including swapping out hoses and replacing o-rings.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on equipment, such as checking fluid levels, greasing bearings, and changing belts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to troubleshoot 480v 3-phase motors.
- VFD troubleshooting experience.
- PLC and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment such as cranes and yard trucks.
- Computer skills for documentation.

Work Environment
The work environment is a metal recycling company focused on non-ferrous metals, operating in both indoor and outdoor settings. The facility is dusty, dirty, and loud, requiring candidates to be comfortable working in these conditions. The shift available is 3rd shift (11pm - 7am), Monday-Friday. On average working 45 hours a week, plenty of voluntary OT available.

This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
