Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic responsible for primarily mechanical repairs on various equipment. You will troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, including swapping out drives and 3-phase motors, and work on mobile equipment such as forklifts and skid steers. Your role will also involve light fabrication and changing out hydraulic cylinders. The tasks are primarily mechanical, with a small portion involving electrical work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct mechanical repairs on conveyor systems and mobile equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair 3-phase motors and drives.
  • Replace hydraulic hoses and perform light fabrication on skid steers.
  • Change out blades and augers on shredder machines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on conveyor systems and mobile equipment.
  • Document PMs and make notes on visual inspections for future planning.
  • Handle challenging tasks such as changing belts on conveyor lines and swapping out head pulleys.
  • Conduct electrical troubleshooting as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 4+ years of mechanic or millwright or industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience in auto mechanics, millwright, or industrial maintenance.
  • Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to troubleshoot 480v 3-phase motors.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for documenting work.

Work Environment

Work in a metal recycling facility focused on Non-Ferrous metals. The environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, often dusty, dirty, and loud. Be prepared to work in various weather conditions. The position is based on the 2nd Shift, from 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Auburn, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $58240.00/yr.
