Job Description

Join our team as a Grounds Crew Member, where you'll be responsible for maintaining the beauty and safety of our outdoor spaces. This role offers a pay rate of $15 per hour and requires availability from Monday to Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with on-call duties during winter months for snow removal.

Custodial- $15/hr

We are also Hiring for our custodial services team! If this is something you're interested in we can consider you for these roles as well.

This job would consist of standard custodial services. Cleaning the campus buildings, halls and centers.

2nd Shift 5:30pm- 2am

3rd Shift- 10pm-6:30am

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned areas for maintenance needs and litter control.
• Perform tasks such as leaf removal, weeding, pruning, mowing, and string trimming.
• Engage in snow removal activities during winter months.
• Plant, deadhead, and thin plant materials as required.
• Conduct periodic fertilization and pre-emergent control under supervision.
• Collaborate with Landscape Technicians on group projects.
• Mow, edge, fertilize, and water lawns to maintain healthy turf.
• Plant, prune, and trim trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Remove weeds from gardens, flowerbeds, and landscaped areas.
• Clear leaves, litter, and debris from grounds and pathways.
• Operate equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers safely.

Essential Skills

• Experience in groundskeeping and general labor.
• Ability to perform physical work, lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including rain, shine, or snow.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferred verifiable experience in lawn care or gardening.

Work Environment

This role requires working entirely outdoors, facing all weather conditions. Expect to engage in physical tasks that may result in getting dirty, all while ensuring the university grounds remain pristine and well-maintained.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IN.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
