Job Description
Join a dedicated pediatric outpatient clinic connected to a hospital, where you can learn and grow within a supportive organization.
Responsibilities
- Assist providers by rooming patients, obtaining blood pressure, documenting signs and symptoms, and taking weight and temperature.
- Complete medical history documentation and assist with various tests such as urinalyses, strep, flu, and pregnancy tests.
- Set up for and assist providers with miscellaneous tasks.
- Schedule tests, radiology exams, and specialist appointments as requested.
- Enter all information related to check-in and check-out in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
- Perform prior authorizations and notify the office referral specialist when an insurance referral is required.
- Conduct phone triage, including handling patient medical questions, test results, medication refills, and call-backs.
- Fax, call, and transmit prescription refills as directed.
Essential Skills
- Active CMA (AAMA), RMA, or CCMA certification.
- Successful completion of and graduation from a recognized medical assistant training course or equivalent experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in medical assisting, patient care, and customer service.
- Experience in rooming patients and handling EMR systems.
- Ability to take vitals, manage appointment scheduling, and use electronic health records.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
- Experience within family practice or pediatrics is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Point of Care (POC) testing.
- An upbeat, positive, and outgoing attitude with a willingness to ensure consistent patient flow and positive interactions.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
Work Environment
Work in a temperature-controlled environment at, alongside a team of two providers and one other Medical Assistant. The team sees approximately 130 patients daily. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with no weekend work and holidays off. Enjoy free parking, a friendly culture where everyone greets each other, and opportunities for growth.
