Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description

Join a global leader in Electric Vehicle solutions, dedicated to advancing sustainable technologies for mobility. We are expanding our team due to significant growth in the inverter module sector within the xEV automotive space. This position will be a key addition to our Greenfield location, supporting Power Module programs and products used in Inverters. This role will focus on establishing equipment, processes, and quotations for Intelligent Power Module (IPM) products, with a specific emphasis on Automated Optical Inspection, Vision Inspection Systems, and other failure mode analysis methods.



Responsibilities

  • Support safe launch of IPM products and processes (40%)
  • Assist in the development of technology, resource, and production requirements (30%)
  • Support new IPM business opportunities (20%)
  • Address production process or equipment problems and develop solutions (5%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support corporate objectives (5%)


Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 4 to 5+ years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive
  • Proficiency with vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence
  • Willingness to travel to Japan for equipment qualifications


Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in electronics manufacturing environments with an emphasis on inspection processes
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing and assembly processes, including failure modes and corrective actions
  • Experience developing inspection criteria with automated processes
  • Familiarity with APQP, FMEA, Control Plans
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing and IPC regulations
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting information to associates, management, and customers
  • Ability to lead and mentor other engineers or team members


Work Environment

Our Greenfield, Indiana facility is experiencing significant growth and expansion. As a Tier 1 Automotive supplier, we provide parts and systems directly to major OEMs like Honda. This position involves working on the manufacturing floor, in an office environment, and attending meetings both in-person and virtually.
