Job Title: Medical Assistant


Job Description

This role involves assisting in the delivery of primary healthcare and patient care management within a group of doctor's offices. The position offers exposure to a wide range of medical disciplines, conditions, and treatments, with opportunities for career growth through annual merit-based reviews.


Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing and administrative duties.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
  • Take patient vital signs, review medications and allergies, and enter health questionnaire information into the EMR, WebChart.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Assist physicians or PAs in preparing for medical procedures.
  • Verify all patients by date of birth and full name.
  • Perform procedures and accompanying paperwork.
  • Promote office discharge process including scheduling tests, outside physician appointments, and handling lab orders and prescriptions.
  • Triage telephone calls for referral to physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Restock examination rooms weekly.

Essential Skills

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentials.
  • Experience in patient care and medical assisting.
  • Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing blood collection.
  • Experience with phlebotomy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • MA certification in good standing is preferred.
  • Experience in rheumatology or internal medicine.
  • Experience in pediatrics.
  • Familiarity with WebChart EMR system.

Work Environment

The role requires availability from 8am to 5:30pm, with potential early shifts starting at 7am depending on patient lab needs. No weekend work is required. The primary location is in Greenwood, with occasional travel to Noblesville for coverage, which is not mandatory but beneficial. Candidates will undergo a 6-week training program and must be adaptable to various tasks as needed.
