Job Description:
We are seeking a CAD Detailer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for drafting and designing a wide variety of structural steel, miscellaneous steel, sheet metal items, piping, and piping systems for heavy industrial, manufacturing, food processing, and distribution. The role involves using Inventor for 3D design and AutoCAD for 2D design, focusing on the metal fabrication shop and construction departments.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and design structural components in sheet metal, various types of steel, and aluminum.
- Model and detail piping systems including process pipe, compressed air, natural gas, steam, and more.
- Develop part lists for manufacturing and create detailed drawings and dimensions for custom fabricated parts.
- Assist with completing field measurements as needed.
- Design and detail items such as structural steel, handrails, stairs, railings, and machine guards.
- Engage in CAD design work for 80% or more of the time, drafting and detailing fabrication drawings.
- Troubleshoot and collaborate with shop personnel and engineers, as needed.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor.
- 2+ years of professional experience in designing structural steel, miscellaneous steel, and piping systems.
- Strong skills in 3D design and modeling.
- Able to read welding fabrication drawings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- General understanding of piping design and ability to draw onto blueprints.

This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
