Job Title: HSE Specialist


Job Description

We are seeking an HSE Specialist to join our team, focusing on health, safety, and environmental aspects within our facility. This role involves conducting audits, inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will play a crucial part in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, contributing to the planning and execution of safety initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety audits and PPE audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Inspect PPE on the production line to determine replacement needs.
  • Schedule and post Safety Walk Data for thorough tracking and reporting.
  • Maintain the Good Catch board, ensuring it is updated regularly.
  • Perform chemical inventory audits to locate materials assigned to specific sites.
  • Utilize Google Translate to communicate HSE-related messages to all employee groups effectively.
  • Assist in resolving Good Catch issues by tracking locations and gathering necessary information.
  • Monitor contractors onsite, reviewing paperwork and ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Potentially create a binder containing printed SDSs for each department/area to ensure quick access and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Support the planning and execution of Safety Week activities.
  • Develop and translate Toolbox Talks into all languages required at the site.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or needed to support the HSE function.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in health and environmental safety.
  • Proficiency in conducting safety audits and PPE inspections.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for inputting report data.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification is beneficial but not mandatory.

Work Environment

The work is conducted in a clean room environment focused on assembling medical devices, requiring adherence to strict PPE guidelines. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with potential flexibility post-training.
