Job Title: Tool & Die Apprentice
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated 1st and 2nd shift Tool & Die Apprentice (or Journeyman) to plan, lay out, and perform all bench and machine operations to build, service, repair, and maintain tools, dies, and fixtures. This role involves using a variety of equipment including surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, and more in a stamping and roll-forming environment. Responsibilities
- Plan, lay out, and perform bench and machine operations to build, service, repair, and maintain tools, dies, and fixtures.
- Operate surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, belt sanders, saws, hoists, clamps, and measuring tools.
- Handle dies weighing up to 8,000 pounds in a stamping and roll-forming environment.
- Work with CNC Haas Mills and other CNC automated and robotic lines.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of CNC Machinist experience with Mills and Lathes.
- 4+ years of setup, change outs, offsets, and operation of CNC Milling machinery.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints with up to 100 dimensions.
- Proficient in using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Experience with tight tolerances up to +/- .005.
- Understanding of G & M codes to change tooling and make offset adjustments.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of Tool & Die Maker experience.
- Ability to layout, build, service, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures.
- Journeyman Card.
- Roll Forming Experience.

Work Environment
The work environment is large, bright, clean, and organized with a massive Maintenance and Tool & Die shop. Please note that it can be loud in areas where stamping equipment is located. The facility provides a stable and dynamic atmosphere for professional growth on a 2nd shift schedule from 2pm to 10:30pm.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middlebury, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $34.00/hr.
