Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
This role focuses on custom assembly of conveyor systems in a fabrication shop that manufactures material handling equipment. You will work hands-on with metal components, use welding and fabrication techniques, and follow blueprints to build high-quality conveyor systems, including those used in airport environments.
Responsibilities
- Assemble custom conveyor systems on a daily basis according to production requirements and project specifications.
- Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication of components.
- Perform MIG welding on various metal parts as needed during the assembly process.
- Fabricate and fit metal components to meet design and quality standards.
- Inspect completed assemblies for accuracy, structural integrity, and alignment with specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the welding and fabrication shop.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate workflow and meet production deadlines.
- Follow all safety procedures and use tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Adapt to overtime requirements as needed to support production schedules.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of recent experience in a job shop environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding in a production or fabrication setting.
- Strong blueprint reading skills to accurately interpret and execute assembly and fabrication tasks.
- Hands-on experience with metal fabrication and assembly work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fabrication shop.
- Commitment to safety practices and attention to detail in all tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience assembling conveyor systems or material handling equipment.
- working in a clean, organized welding shop environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic fabrication or assembly issues.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting production schedules.

Work Environment
This position is based in a fabrication shop that manufactures material handling systems and equipment, with airport conveyor systems making up a significant portion of the work. The facility operates a very clean welding shop environment focused on quality and safety. The standard shift runs from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, with overtime available as needed on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. You will work with welding and fabrication equipment, follow blueprints, and collaborate with a team in a structured production setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
