Job Description
This position is for a MIG welder at a manufacturing company located in South Bend. The role involves welding various components for structures, including floors and side panels, using MIG welding techniques.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on different types of beams and channels, such as I-beams.
- Retrieve materials from designated locations using an overhead crane.
- Follow blueprints to fit materials in the correct positions.
- Conduct TAC MIG welds to secure materials in place.
- 5 years of experience in MIG welding on steel.
- Proficiency in TAC welding on steel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Skillful in reading a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
- Possession of personal welding equipment, including a weld helmet and steel toe shoes.
- Capability to pass a basic weld test involving a BUTT-joint weld.
- Welding certifications are beneficial.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing facility. The work schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts, typically from 5 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional work on Fridays. The average workweek ranges from 40 to 48 hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
