We are searching for an Engineer, Sr. ( Mechanical design engineering ) on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. The person will be responsible for preparing Design Change Packages in accordance with the Standard Design Change process, utilized unilaterally across the US Nuclear fleet. Additional engineering activities include supporting project implementation, development of test plans, performing Applicability Determinations and 50.59 Screening. The person in this role will apply broad nuclear plant engineering experience and principles to make decisions and recommendations.

Location: Remote or Juno Beach, FL.

This is an exempt position.

Responsibilities
  • Will work independently and perform activities associated with the Standard Design Process (SDP).
  • The person will support capital modification implementation and turnover, including outage or emergent modifications.
  • The person will manage engineering vendor activities, including developing specifications, statements of work, bid evaluations, owner acceptance reviews, and coordinate engineering vendors onsite.
  • Individuals work with independence and have wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solution development
  • Responsible for advanced engineering tasks which require broad nuclear plant engineering experience and application of engineering principles.
  • Independently performs highly complex engineering tasks that require knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations.
  • Effectively communicate and perform the lead role in a group situation to resolve problems or coordinate design production.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required. PE preferred, may substitute for BS degree.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years engineering or related experience or minimum of one (1) year as an Engineer I required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory, industry standards and codes and the 10 CFR 50.59 process will be essential for this role.
  • Able to work with independence and have wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solution development.
Preferred
  • Experience with drafting, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, ISI/IST, ASME Section II, VIII and XI, ADL Pipe (or similar) and pipe stress analysis is preferred but not required.
