Job Title: Construction General Laborer
Job Description
Join our team as a General Laborer, where you will play a crucial role in various concrete and masonry construction projects. This position involves performing manual labor tasks, preparing surfaces for concrete, and ensuring the job site is safe and clean.
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects.
- Prepare surfaces for concrete.
- Shovel concrete into construction areas.
- Maintain a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment daily to eliminate potential hazards.
- Handle and store materials appropriately.
- Load and unload trucks, and haul and hoist materials.
- Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
Essential Skills
- Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in concrete and masonry construction work.
- Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- General labor, hand tool, power tool, forms, framing, construction.
- 1+ years of experience in general labor, concrete construction, and commercial construction.
- Experience in equipment operation, blueprint reading, concrete, and tape measure usage.
- OSHA 10 certification.

Work Environment
You will work both indoors and outdoors, engaging in a variety of tasks across different departments. Be prepared to work in various weather conditions, and expect to be on your feet for extended periods, walking on uneven terrain. You must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in squatting or kneeling positions. Safety is paramount, so wearing steel-toed boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses is required at all times.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
