We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Laborer to join our construction team. This role is integral to our construction projects and requires a candidate with a strong work ethic and the ability to perform various tasks to support construction activities.
Responsibilities- Measure distances from grade stakes, drive them, and stretch tight lines.
- Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms.
- Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
- Level earth (dig) to fine grade specifications with a shovel or pick.
- Mix concrete using a portable mixer.
- Smooth and form freshly poured concrete using a float, trowel, or screed.
- Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections.
- Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces to job and safety specifications.
- Apply and/or spread paints or other compounds over surfaces for protection.
- Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces.
- Grind, sand, or polish surfaces such as concrete, marble, or wood flooring using abrasive tools or machines.
- Install concrete reinforcing as directed.
- Sort forms stripped according to size.
- Remove forms from set concrete.
- Perform numerous tasks involving dexterous use of hands and hand tools such as tying rebar, cutting wood, using a jackhammer, dismantling forms, and shoveling.
- Lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
- Clean tools, equipment, materials, and the work area.
- Complete other miscellaneous duties as directed by your supervisor.
- Know and adhere to company safety policies at all times while working.
- 2+ years of experience in commercial or residential construction.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
- Experience in concrete, civil, bridge, highway, and underground utility construction.
- Trainees can be selected from the contractor's existing workforce or hired as new.
- Dependable work habits, a desire to learn, improve, and willingness for the task.

Work EnvironmentThis position involves working outdoors in a commercial construction environment, where you will be exposed to various weather conditions and physical demands. Safety and adherence to company policies are paramount.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Olathe, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
