Job Title: Commissioning Manager
Job Description
This role requires 100% travel and commitment to one site, primarily new build data centers located mostly in the Southeast. The position involves managing electrical and specialty systems QAQC and commissioning scopes of work, as well as overseeing commissioning and startup schedules.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage QAQC and commissioning scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Review outgoing QAQC and commissioning estimates with the Estimating Department for accuracy.
- Utilize internal functional groups and monitor progress of project deliverables.
- Develop and implement QAQC and commissioning safety plans in collaboration with internal safety departments.
- Ensure startup and operational procedures are executed safely and comply with client specifications.
- Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly meetings related to QAQC, commissioning, equipment, coordination, scheduling, staffing, and project management.
- Manage QAQC and commissioning issues logs and coordinate with affected parties to resolve issues.
- Work with third-party testing and commissioning agencies to ensure proper coverage during procedures.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on recruiting, selection, and employee relations.
- Coach and develop managerial talent and effectively select and train individuals.
- Create a supportive environment that encourages learning from mistakes and provides constructive feedback.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google G-Suite.
- Knowledge of the electrical construction trade.
- Experience in industrial or data center commissioning.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent technical training/experience.
- 5 years of experience in Project Management, Construction Management, Project Engineering, or Commissioning Management.
- 8 years of experience in commissioning/start-up for electrical and/or mechanical systems.
- Experience leading commissioning/start-up activities for projects exceeding $25MM in contract value.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in Mission Critical, Industrial, and Commercial sectors.
- Experience as an electrician, engineer, technician, or similar role in oil and gas industry.
Work Environment
The position requires extensive travel and commitment to project sites. A car allowance or rental car/flights are provided. The role involves working with a commissioning team on new build data center projects scattered across various locations, primarily in the Southeast.
Compensation:$200000
