Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator for a hands-on, full-time position with 1st shift hours from 7am to 3:30pm/4pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required on some Saturdays. The role involves operating a dedicated processing cell, setting up and running automatic and semi-automatic grinding machines, and using manual and CNC equipment to perform precision tasks such as boring, adding pinholes, and cutting keyways.
Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing cells, including simultaneous set-up and operation of automatic and semi-automatic grinding machines.
- Perform precision machining and grinding using CNC and manual methods to execute modifications such as increasing blade bore diameters, adding pinholes, splitting blades, and cutting keyways.
- Become proficient in the operation and maintenance of all processing equipment, including support machinery such as semi-automatic polishing machines and bead blasting equipment.
- Learn and become proficient in specialized processes, including carbide tip brazing and blade tensioning/hammering.
- Follow established manufacturing methods and safety protocols to maintain rigorous product quality and accuracy standards.
- Maintain product quality by strictly adhering to engineering specifications and process documentation.
- Gain a complete understanding of manufacturing and inventory control processes to provide guidance to management on inventory status and accuracy.
- Maintain, clean, and service equipment and the facility on a regular schedule; document all maintenance activities accurately.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including proper product packaging, as required.
- Support the management team on the development and implementation of new programs and systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment preferred.
- Experience with CNC operation is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and machinery.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Trade school certification or apprenticeship highly valued.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Hutchinson, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
