Process Lead (Upstream Technician)

Pay Rate - $60k - $90k

Description

Responsibilities:

The Downstream Tech is "Leading the Process" so he isn't alone in the troubleshooting (has scientists, maintenance, and engineers to help) but the background in the follow processes and description means the candidate has knowledge of the "why" in the process and can best represent the Operations side of things.

-Executes the operation with team serving as process lead, coach, trainer, and responsible party.

-Performs and verifies Maintenance, process setup, troubleshooting, change over, process intervention.

-Serve as the operations representative and subject matter expert for cross-functional process support team.

-Real-time problem solving, process intervention, and technical experiment delivery, and continuous improvement.

-Ensure process documentation is prepared and completed with accuracy and concurrence.

Difference from Downstream:

Understanding of the "why" in this biological manufacturing procedure is great, but that can be taught. The manager is primarily looking for someone with the hands-on capabilities to perform the mechanical setup and troubleshooting for the filtration systems and cell growth processes/machinery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Minimum High School Diploma

- Degrees are great and would affect pay scale, but trhe biological manufacturing experience is essential.

-Production scale filtration and fluid flow understanding

- Mechanical aptitude

-Formal Root Cause Investigation training

-Fermentation

-Proficiency with SAP

-GMP manufacturing

-Aseptic experience

Powder weighing and bioreactor experience is a plus--if no bioreactor than any experience with stainless steel vessels is good too

-Culture sampling and working on cell growth reactors

- Capable to do the operator work but not perform the operating, so training capabilities

This is a Permanent position based out of Wathena, KS.

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
