Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Saw Operator to apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to work order specifications. The role involves maintaining processing equipment in a safe and clean condition while ensuring that all required information is entered accurately. You will perform additional tasks as assigned, contributing to a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
- Pull, inspect, and verify products before processing.
- Properly and safely set up equipment to run material as per setup note specifications.
- Process setup notes according to work order specifications.
- Verify that the product meets setup note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements.
- Communicate with the appropriate sales representative regarding changes or clarification of orders.
- Perform equipment preventive maintenance.
- Enter and delete material identification tags per written instructions.
- Perform general clean-up and assist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work orders.
- Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition.
- Operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements.
- Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material.
- Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
- Complete job responsibilities in a manner that ensures safety for yourself and others.
- Train others when required and assist in activities related to lean and quality initiatives.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Perform basic math skills.
- 2+ years of experience in saw operation in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Experience with inventory control, utilizing math skills and reading rulers.
- Ability to interpret blueprints for operating saws according to specifications.
- Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
- Experience in forklift operation.
- Proficient in using handheld measuring tools.
- Computer literacy.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution warehouse environment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse and production environment, involving handling metals like sheet metal and aluminum. The setting is fast-paced, requiring attention to detail and safety.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.20 - $22.20/hr.
