We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to facilitate mechanical building system startups and commissioning activities. In this role, you will provide expert assistance in reviewing product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, and engineering design specifications. You will work collaboratively with construction contractors and equipment vendors to ensure successful equipment testing, delivery, installation, and commissioning.

- Review product and equipment submittals, shop drawings, and engineering design specifications.
- Coordinate equipment factory testing, delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover to end users.
- Coordinate weekend and plant shutdown work with contractors and plant facilities groups.
- Conduct continuous work progress inspections.
- Support construction administration activities related to schedule coordination and quality confirmations.
- Conduct inspections for compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Oversee mechanical contractors' adherence to project delivery methods and schedule targets.
- Prepare field engineering status reports for Project Managers.
- Provide input to improve project technical specifications and standards.
- Implement building construction projects to support the site.
- Coordinate construction scheduling and communication.
- Manage daily construction and RFI support for construction projects.
- Act as a liaison between in-field construction and project management.
- Supervise construction activity in the field.
- Monitor equipment installation methods for compliance with specifications.
- 5-10+ years of experience in industrial or commercial construction projects.
- 5+ years in mechanical design field.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction means and methods.
- Extensive knowledge of prevailing building codes and industry standards.
- Proficient drawing review and field application abilities.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Extensive knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Ability to communicate technical matters effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Ability to multitask, manage time, and prioritize project commitments.
- Experience in design criteria development for mechanical systems.
- Ability to stand, stoop, and walk throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant.
- Automotive experience with engine, transmission, or vehicle facilities.
- Software experience: AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project.
This construction-focused role supports a new project and is specifically intended to support the mechanical aspects of the building. The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical systems within the facility, including HVAC and cooling systems. Building construction experience specifically within mechanical or manufacturing settings is essential. Candidates should be comfortable relocating at their own expense and demonstrate strong mechanical knowledge along with solid computer proficiency. We offer 10 PTO days and 9 paid holidays per year, with overtime compensated at time and a half. Travel arrangements for contractors are fully supported.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $63.00/hr.
