Job Title: Manufacturing Mechanic

Job Description
Ensure the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production machines. Responsibilities include following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions. This role involves dismantling, moving, assembling, installing, welding, performing torch work, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
Responsibilities
- Dismantle equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors using hand and power tools.
- Construct foundations and align machines.
- Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and listening for issues.
- Use precision measuring and testing instruments to diagnose problems.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices with hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools.
- Control downtime through effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
- Set up and operate machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.
- Travel to other locations as required.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Essential Skills
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Proficiency in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of blueprints and schematics.
- Experience in machine operating or fabricating.
- Knowledge of diesel, electrical, repair, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Proficiency in preventive maintenance, hand tool usage, and welding.
- Understanding of 3-phase motors, wiring, and assembly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in mechanical and electrical assembly.

Work Environment
Work in a heavy manufacturing environment, which may require handling various hand and power tools and operating heavy machinery. The role may include travel to other locations as needed.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ghent, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
