Job Description
We are seeking an entry-level construction materials technician to join our team. This role involves testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture within a laboratory setting. The candidate will receive in-house training and work closely with various stakeholders to ensure project requirements and testing standards are met. This position can pay more depending on candidates years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractors regarding the construction site and project specifications.
- Transport material samples along with identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital formats for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Assist with the scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites as needed.
- Adhere to strict safety standards and provide clear documentation of findings and results.
- Take on progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.
Essential Skills
- Reliability and dependability
- ACI Level 1 certification
- Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions for extended periods
- Strong communication skills
- Associate's degree
- Previous CMT or construction experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- ACI or other related certifications
- Bachelor's degree or progress towards one
Work Environment
The role involves working on-site across various locations in Kentucky, primarily involving day travel. Initial reporting will be at the Shelbyville office each morning, followed by travel in a company truck with colleagues. There is potential for independent driving of the company truck in the future. Equipment and transportation will be provided, and most work will be conducted during the day.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
