- We are seeking an experienced Civil Designer to coordinate with various team leads and communicate effectively with engineers and project managers. You will prepare hour estimates for client proposals, ensure design tasks meet deadlines, and translate requests and markups to designers and mappers. You'll also interface with clients to explain designs and set up client templates, attending project meetings to review and communicate design changes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Mechanical/Mapping Lead on dates, design changes, and deliverable needs.
- Communicate with Grading Designers to update surfaces for sites and alignments.
- Prepare hours estimates for client proposals.
- Ensure mappers complete design tasks within deadlines.
- Translate PM/ENG requests and markups to designers and mappers.
- Communicate with Engineers and Project Managers on questions and schedule concerns.
- Communicate with Project Managers on Survey Data needs.
- Interface with clients to explain designs for client projects.
- Set up client templates with Sheet Set fields as required.
- Arrange sheet sets per client standards and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Attend project meetings to review markups or design changes.
- Communicate with Department Manager before incorporating major changes.
- Ensure changes align with client standards and address resource and scheduling needs.
- Use CAD to prepare various project drawings and support Mappers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
- Self-check drawings for quality before peer review.
- Mentor other civil designers and perform QA/QC of other designers and drafters.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in CAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and related software.
- Experience in Civil Survey/Drafting, Grading, Drainage, Pipeline Routing, and Land Development.
- 3+ years of Civil3D experience.
- Experience with Oil/Natural Gas pipeline projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to mentor and perform quality assurance checks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- GIS software experience is a plus.
- Diploma required, Associate's degree preferred.
Work Environment
. There is flexibility for mostly remote work, requiring in-office presence one day a week or every other week based on candidate preference IF local The work environment includes an individual desk with multiple monitors set up.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, Kentucky.
Compensation:$60
