Job Description

The Safety & Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining workplace safety and training programs within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with MIOSHA and environmental regulations, proactively reduces workplace risk, and serves as a key resource for employee safety education, incident prevention, and regulatory reporting. The coordinator works closely with plant leadership and employees to promote a strong safety culture while maintaining accurate records and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement workplace safety and training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with MIOSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Proactively reduce workplace risk and promote safety education.
  • Serve as a key resource for incident prevention and regulatory reporting.
  • Work closely with plant leadership and employees to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Maintain accurate safety and training records and logs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in safety practices.

Essential Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of supporting health and safety initiatives, OSHA 30, safety training, EHS, safety management, OSHA safety, health & safety.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven ability and willingness to address safety concerns directly with team members.
  • 2–3 years of experience supporting health and safety initiatives in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing PPE programs and safety supplies.
  • Experience maintaining accurate safety and training records, logs, and reports.

Work Environment

The position is based in a metal stamping facility with very large presses, up to 3K tons. It is a 1st shift position starting at 7AM, with shifts lasting 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on the workload. Employees must be able to stand, walk, and sit for the duration of the shift. The work schedule includes an 8-hour shift with two ten-minute breaks and a 60-minute lunch. Decisions are often made at the local level, providing good experience working with metal stamping.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mount Sterling, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
