Job Title: Sales Development Representative
Job Description
This role involves extensive travel within an assigned territory, with mileage reimbursement provided at 70 cents per mile. When not traveling, the candidate will work remotely. The primary focus is on visiting prospective businesses, presenting new program opportunities, and generating interest. The position requires reliable transportation and involves face to face visits in targeted towns, up to two hours driving distance.
Responsibilities
- Travel within the assigned territory four days a week and work remotely when not traveling.
- Visit prospective businesses door to door in targeted towns, up to two hours driving distance.
- Present and pitch new program opportunities to prospective businesses.
- Qualify prospective businesses and guide them through the application and vetting process.
- Track lead activity and manage the pipeline in Salesforce.
- Support the Field Manager in planning and hosting recruitment events in the community.
- Partner with the Field Manager to collaborate with local influencers such as chambers of commerce and economic development associations.
- Import Excel spreadsheets into Salesforce weekly.
- Maintain and assign leads to the sales team, including prospecting for new leads.
- Manage the flow of incoming leads.
- Create and maintain sales reports.
- Analyze lead data, including conversion rates and cost of leads.
- Act as a liaison with other groups in the company to improve sales processes.
Essential Skills
- 1-2 years of prior sales and/or customer service experience.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Experience in roles involving sales and/or negotiation with customers.
- Professionalism and enthusiasm to work with others.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Tech-savvy with intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ACT!, Salesforce.com, or other SFA tools.
- Online research skills.
- Ability to be in the market for up to 8 hours.
- Prior outside sales experience or sales support.
- Experience in Salesforce.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse responsibilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with customer satisfaction.
- Ability to learn quickly from hands-on training.
Work Environment
The position requires fieldwork 4-5 days a week, with remote work for the remainder of the time. The role is commission-based, providing up to $350 per partner sign-on. The work environment involves extensive interaction with the sales team and requires understanding of sales processes. The candidate should be comfortable working with multiple systems and technologies.
