Position Description: Manage, evaluate, and implement Turner Sustainability Programs within budget and to the quality specified by contract
documents.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Turner Sustainability programs and initiatives in accordance with local, regional, and national sustainability
goals. - Manage process and requirements as related to submittal review, inspections, and completion of final documentation as
required by sustainability rating system or contractual obligations. - Organize and facilitate sustainability charrette (design collaboration) meetings on new projects targeting sustainable
certification. - Act as liaison with Architects/Engineers (A/E), subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, other Turner staff and
owner representatives to resolve issues related to sustainability rating systems. - Ensure drawings and specifications properly relate to sustainability rating systems and programs, review contract drawings and subcontract information.
- Identify and develop best practices and share improvement efforts of other business units and regions.
- Contribute to development of sustainability elements of project budget and Change Order Management.
- Manage submittals and shop drawings, assess conformance to contract specifications and sustainability rating systems, and resolve conflicts in interpretation.
- Contribute to Scope of Work documents for trade partners.
- Develop reports necessary to communicate status of sustainability program.
- Participate in Subcontractor Trade Coordination meetings, Preconstruction meetings (e.g., project launch), and submittal review meetings.
- Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program and minimum of 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
- LEED Professional Accreditation administered by Green Building Certification Institute, desired or in pursuit of, or other
relevant accreditations - Experience in construction industry, preferred
- Broad knowledge of Sustainability practices and processes
- Read and interpret contract documents
- Approachable and effectively interact with all employee levels, management, subcontractors, and clients
- Active listening skills, responsive, and strong follow-up practices
- Professional verbal and written business communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and timely documentation
- Possess solid problem solving and analytical capabilities
- Familiar with basic lean concepts, and continuous improvement methods and tools
- Work independently with oversight and direction, and collaboratively with teams
- Prioritize responsibilities for self
- Embrace change and quick learner to adopt process and technology enhancements
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office suite of applications, Internet navigation, and database applications
- Limited travel
