Job Description
Join a dynamic team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers to perform hardware engineering activities. Develop innovative and practical technical solutions to complex mechanical engineering problems. Contribute to concept development and support prototyping, production, and testing phases as part of cross-functional design teams. Engage in detailed design work involving solid modeling, requirements analysis, and mechanical engineering analysis. Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports. Support proposal activities with input on cost estimates and risk assessments, and brief peers, management, and customers on design considerations and program status.
Responsibilities
- Perform hardware engineering activities within a collaborative team.
- Develop technical solutions for complex mechanical engineering challenges.
- Contribute to concept development, prototyping, production, and test support.
- Conduct detailed design of mechanical structures and subsystems.
- Prepare formal engineering documentation including drawings and specifications.
- Support proposal activities by providing cost estimates and risk assessments.
- Brief peers, management, and customers on design considerations and program status.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and Design.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in requirements analysis, FEA, vibration analysis, and calculations.
- Solid working knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Effective presentation skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with mechanism development, Free Body Diagrams, and hand calculations.
- Ability to design tests for military environmental, shock, and vibration qualifications.
- Capability to obtain a security clearance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with MagicDraw and Jira is a plus.
- Familiarity with drawing standards is preferred.
- Temperament to work in lab, shop floor, or office environments.
- Desire and ability to lead teams or individuals in design and manufacturing tasks.
Work Environment
Work in a state-of-the-art facility with a 9/80 schedule, providing every other Friday off. Participate in developing test and simulation hardware and software for Electronic Warfare applications. Opportunities for growth and training in a company known for innovative technology and resources. The position is based in Slidell, LA, where the ARV is being manufactured and tested.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Slidell, LA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $90.00/hr.
