We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced GSE Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will perform preventative maintenance repairs on Ground Support Equipment (GSE) such as baggage carts and deicing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical testing and troubleshooting, particularly with diesel engines.
Responsibilities- Perform light and heavy repairs on GSE equipment.
- Diagnose and repair engine mechanical issues (diesel, gas, and LP).
- Troubleshoot A/C and D/C electrical systems.
- Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems.
- Utilize computer software to diagnose Powertrain Management Systems.
- Repair 80 & 48 volt DC systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Airstart systems.
- Maintain productivity levels and accurately complete vehicle repair orders in a timely manner.
- Engage in ongoing training to enhance knowledge of equipment.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical testing and troubleshooting.
- Experience with diesel engines, including automotive/diesel mix.
- Ability to read schematics.
- Proficiency in electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- Own a rolling toolbox with basic tools.
- Previous GSE experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of gas and diesel engines (3-5 years preferred).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Vocational training certificate or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Capability to attain an Airport issued ID badge (includes extensive background check).

Work EnvironmentThe work site is located in a heated hangar, ensuring comfortable working conditions during winter. In the summer, large fans help keep the environment cool. You will be part of a team of mechanics, with 7 mechanics on each shift. There is also an off-site location for larger projects, offering the same comfortable environment as the hangar.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.50 - $33.50/hr.
