Department: Immunology Discovery

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Exploratory Biologics team within the Immunology Discovery group. This role focuses on the design, expression, purification, and functional testing of therapeutic proteins using recombinant DNA technology. It’s an exciting opportunity to contribute to early-stage drug discovery in a collaborative, fast-paced, and multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and generate therapeutic molecules using recombinant DNA techniques.
  • Express and purify recombinant proteins, including monoclonal antibodies.
  • Conduct in vitro functional assays using purified proteins in cellular systems.
  • Perform multi-color flow cytometry using instruments such as BD Canto and MACSQuant; analyze data with FlowJo.
  • Execute ELISA and MSD assays to quantify pro-inflammatory cytokines.
  • Apply core cell biology and biochemical techniques such as tissue culture, transfection, cell line generation, SDS-PAGE, immunoprecipitation, and Western blotting.
  • Utilize molecular biology methods including DNA/RNA handling, PCR, and qPCR.
  • Conduct protein characterization using size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and mass spectrometry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate findings effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Strong hands-on experience in recombinant protein expression and purification.
  • Proficiency in designing and executing in vitro experiments using generated reagents.
  • Solid understanding of immunology, cell biology, and molecular biology techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative team environment.

What We Offer:

  • A dynamic and innovative research environment.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and scientific development.
  • The chance to contribute to impactful therapeutic discovery efforts.
