Job Description
This is a hands-on software engineering role for someone who enjoys making real machines move, respond, and perform. You will work on production software that directly drives automated electro-mechanical systems, owning features from concept through support. This role is ideal for a mid-level engineer who seeks real responsibility, technical influence, and daily interaction with hardware, not just time behind an IDE. You will be a core contributor on a small, collaborative team where your ideas can shape design decisions and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Own and support existing production software used in automated equipment.
- Design and develop new features, enhancements, and bug fixes across the full software lifecycle.
- Work hands-on with electro-mechanical hardware to understand system behavior and performance.
- Develop Windows-based applications using C#, with exposure to C++ and Python as needed.
- Build and maintain database-driven functionality using SQL.
- Apply WPF and MVVM patterns to create intuitive, reliable user interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams.
- Participate in design discussions and contribute to software standards and best practices.
- Work independently while staying aligned with a small, agile software team.
- 3 to 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience developing Windows-based applications.
- Proficiency in C# with a solid object-oriented programming foundation.
- Experience with multi-threaded and multi-processor application development.
- Hands-on experience with SQL databases and database design.
- Familiarity with WPF and MVVM design patterns.
- Comfort working with hardware, mechanical systems, and motion-controlled equipment.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience developing software for machines or electro-mechanical products.
