Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

The Mechanical Engineer will play a crucial role in modifying existing designs and creating new designs in collaboration with various engineering teams. This position requires updating and creating documentation to ensure quality and repeatability in manufacturing processes. The role includes executing prototype fabrication using hand tools and common shop equipment, and participating in all project phases from requirements definition to deployment and support. The engineer will coordinate activities with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and various support partners.

Responsibilities
  • Modify existing designs and create new designs in collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Create and update documentation to ensure quality and repeatable manufacturing.
  • Execute prototype fabrication using hand tools and common shop equipment.
  • Participate in all phases of projects including requirements definition, prototyping, design, integration and test, deployment, installation, and support.
  • Coordinate activities with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and other support partners.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM for detail design and data management.
  • Strong understanding of tolerance analysis and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14 drafting standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in building or fabricating prototypes or final products/systems.
  • Experience with complex electromechanical assemblies, systems, or capital equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience.
  • Hands-on assembly experience in an industry setting.
  • Skills in electromechanical design and new product development.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturing and DFMEA.
Work Environment

The work environment involves hands-on prototype fabrication using standard shop equipment. The role requires collaboration with various teams and partners, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work setting. Engineers will work on electromechanical systems, with opportunities for involvement in new product development and introduction.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
