Job Title: SW Test Engineer
Job Description
The SW Test Engineer will be responsible for executing test orders for highly scalable enterprise applications based on a multi-tier architecture. This role involves deriving test cases from both functional and non-functional requirements, defining test objectives and criteria, developing software test cases, and creating automated test sequences. The technician will also be responsible for creating test schedules, supporting system integration in test systems, and carrying out software testing and customer acceptance tests. Analysis and documentation of test results, along with the creation of test reports, are key components of this role. The position requires independent and team-oriented project work, along with close and cross-location cooperation with other testers and software developers.
Responsibilities
- Execute test orders for highly scalable enterprise applications.
- Derive test cases from functional and non-functional requirements.
- Define test objectives and criteria.
- Develop software test cases and automated test sequences.
- Create test schedules.
- Support system integration in test systems.
- Carry out software testing and customer acceptance tests.
- Analyze and document test results and create test reports.
- Engage in independent and team-oriented project work.
- Cooperate closely with other testers and software developers across locations.
Essential Skills
- Solid IT knowledge with a university degree or comparable professional training.
- Experience as a tester in an agile project team.
- Knowledge of agile project management methods, such as Scrum.
- Experience with automated testing tools and procedures.
- Proficiency in Java, SAP, Windows, and Linux.
- ISTQB Foundation certification is an advantage.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of electromechanical devices and engineering.
- Experience in load and performance testing is a plus.
- Familiarity with hardware integration.
Work Environment
This position supports the upgrade of POS systems in specific locations and offers a hybrid work model. Employees will be onsite 1-2 times a week, with some flexibility for remote work. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Lowell, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.50/hr.
