The Medical Staff Coordinator will coordinate and manage all medical staff organizational, administrative, credentialing, and privileging functions. The role is accountable for meeting standards, following hospital organization policies, adhering to medical staff bylaws and rules, complying with National Practitioner Data Bank regulations, and understanding legal issues.
Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage all medical staff organizational functions.
- Ensure compliance with hospital organization policies and medical staff bylaws.
- Adhere to National Practitioner Data Bank regulations and procedures.
- Oversee credentialing and privilege delineation processes.
- Maintain confidentiality of all matters conducted in the Medical Staff Office.
- Minimum of 3 years of Staff Coordinator experience in a hospital setting.
- Proficiency in program management and staff coordination.
- Excellent office management skills in a high-pressure hospital office setting.
- Associate's Degree in Business or Executive Secretarial Program.
- Strong preference for current NAMSS (National Association of Medical Staff Services) Certification.
- Possession of a personal vehicle for travel.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills.
- Tact, good judgment, and strong organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Excellent secretarial skills including typing, word processing, and dictation.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful but not required.
- Flexibility to attend early morning or evening meetings.
The position is based in a hospital setting with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and the ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Pittsfield, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.
