Job Title: Sr. Human Resources Assistant


Job Description

The Sr. Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the Human Resources functions. These duties include payroll preparation and administration, maintaining employee files and records, providing assistance in HR-related matters, and other responsibilities that ensure the smooth operation of HR functions.


Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of payroll duties necessary for processing weekly payrolls, including entering required data to update employee time and attendance information, rate data, sick or vacation time.
  • Transmit data to an outside processing agency and review and verify the accuracy of returned payroll reports.
  • Distribute payroll checks according to procedures and generate various payroll reports, manipulating data to obtain special reports as requested.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and files, setting up manual and electronic employee files.
  • Prepare required documentation for new hires and forward forms for insurance coverage.
  • Perform required procedures to terminate employees and update employee records for changes such as name or address, performance evaluations, pay rate changes, trainings, etc.
  • Monitor employee eligibility and enroll them in various benefits programs as they become eligible, assisting employees with forms, claims, and inquiries.
  • Check billing for accuracy, verify charges, process for payment, and follow up with vendors regarding billing concerns.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns involving the HR department and provide accurate and timely information.
  • Refer complex or sensitive situations to a supervisor for resolution and provide administrative support for HR functions.
  • Prepare various correspondence, memos, and reports and compile data for requested reports.
  • Handle employment inquiries according to established policy and make arrangements for company events and functions.
  • Attend meetings as required in the absence of the Manager or as otherwise requested.

Essential Skills

  • Payroll processing experience of at least 2 years.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Intensive knowledge of HR and payroll functions and use of a wide range of procedures.
  • Judgment in the performance of HR functions and determination of best actions within accepted practice.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience with ADP payroll systems.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of duties involving HR, payroll functions, and administrative support.

Work Environment

The position is fully onsite, working Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM or 8 AM to 5 PM. The role offers opportunities to progress into other HR roles down the line

Compensation:$60000
