Test Engineer – Systems & Environmental Testing

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer with a Mechanical or Test Engineering background to plan, coordinate, and execute component‑, subsystem‑, and system‑level testing. This role supports laboratory, environmental, and field test activities while working closely with engineering, program teams, and customers to ensure test objectives are met.
This is a hands‑on role ideal for engineers who enjoy test planning, instrumentation, data acquisition, and analysis in a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule test and evaluation activities to ensure test objectives and requirements are met in accordance with program, customer, engineering, and quality standards.
- Prepare, review, and execute test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews (TRRs), and test reports for functional, environmental, and field testing.
- Support in‑house and field test execution, including product installation, integration, test setup, data acquisition, and data analysis.
- Set up, operate, and maintain test instrumentation and measurement systems, including:
- Data acquisition systems
- Sensors (accelerometers, strain gauges, etc.)
- High‑speed cameras (Phantom, Photron)
- Electrical and mechanical test equipment
- Perform preliminary “quick‑look” data analysis and deliver post‑test debriefs to engineering teams and customers.
- Analyze test data and support reporting using tools such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, and scripting utilities.
- Coordinate effectively with program management, engineering teams, quality, and external organizations throughout planning, execution, and reporting phases.
- Maintain accurate and organized technical documentation and test artifacts.
- Support additional test engineering tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 2+ years of Test or Mechanical Engineering experience supporting product or systems testing
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience supporting systems, environmental, or mechanical testing
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance (Active Secret preferred)
Preferred / Additional Skills
- Experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment
- Hands‑on experience with data acquisition systems and sensor‑based testing
- Familiarity with environmental testing (shock, vibration, temperature, field testing)
- Experience using LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar analysis tools
- Exposure to EVMS or program‑driven test environments
- Experience working in a multi‑disciplinary engineering team

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $126000.00 - $193000.00/yr.
