Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to support our team for a 2 month period to help catch up on work orders and unit turns. It is possible that contract could go longer, or turn into a permanent role. This position involves a consistent 8am-4pm shift, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Perform plumbing jobs such as the adjustment and repair of pipes and plumbing fixtures, valves, floats, drains, grease traps, sump pumps, and watering systems.
- Conduct maintenance and minor repairs on air-conditioning units, freezers, refrigerators, hot water heaters, HVAC units, heat pumps, fan coil units, induction units, terminal reheat, and similar equipment.
- Unclog drain lines and sewers.
- Make minor adjustments to building controls as needed.
- Perform preventative maintenance and minor repair on HVAC units.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Three years of directly related experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Professional interaction skills with university constituents including students, parents, faculty, staff, and external individuals.
- Valid driver's license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Supervisory experience in facilities maintenance, maintenance management, and building maintenance.

Work Environment
The role is based in a dynamic environment that involves both desk work and physical movement around various areas of construction sites. This includes climbing ladders and reaching in various directions. The position requires good communication skills and the ability to see and hear within normal parameters. Occasionally, you may need to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Baltimore, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.50 - $25.50/hr.
