Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide advanced mechanical engineering design services for a range of federal facility projects. You will lead and coordinate design-build projects, working closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams. Your role involves developing and reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and calculations, ensuring all designs meet rigorous federal standards, codes, and client requirements. You will drive innovation and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle and mentor junior staff while supporting project management as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced mechanical engineering design services for federal facility projects.
• Lead and coordinate design-build projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, and construction teams.
• Develop and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Ensure designs meet federal standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Drive innovation and efficiency throughout project lifecycles.
• Mentor junior staff and support project management.

Essential Skills

• At least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience with exposure to federal projects.
• Demonstrated success leading design-build projects.
• Deep understanding of federal standards, codes, and project delivery methods.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is a strong plus.
• Experience with medical or Department of Defense projects.
• Knowledge in electrical design, schematic design, power distribution, MEP, HVAC, and piping.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position. The projects are long-term, with the current project lasting at least three years, and more projects to follow. We are looking for long-term fit.
