Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, insurance processes, and accounts receivable management. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate billing and timely collection of payments, contributing to the financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Submit 60 claims per day with precision and attention to detail.
- Investigate and resolve denied insurance claims efficiently.
- Manage claims across all aging categories, including posting payments, submitting appeals, and handling Additional Documentation Requests (ADRs).
- Identify overdue accounts and take appropriate steps to collect outstanding balances.
- Document all follow-up actions promptly and accurately.
- Coordinate and submit necessary medical records for appeals.
- Communicate clearly with insurance companies to ensure accurate billing and patient information.
- Prepare weekly status updates for management review.
- Support general billing tasks such as submitting insurance claims, posting payments, managing patient accounts, and reviewing statements.
- Experience in accounts receivable, medical billing, and insurance processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with EHR systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and benefits.
- Experience working with both commercial and non-commercial payors.
- High school diploma required.
- 2+ years of relevant experience; orthopaedic billing experience is a plus.
- Proficient in electronic billing systems.
- background in orthopaedic or physical therapy is advantageous.
- Knowledge of EOB, ModMed, TriZetto, and medical coding.
This position is based on-site in Bethesda, with a choice of working hours from 8am-5pm or 7am-4pm, five days a week. This is a Contract position based out of Bethesda, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
