Job Description
The Shipping Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient handling and management of stockroom inventory, shipping materials, and supplies. This position involves maintaining organized records, fulfilling material requests, and managing incoming and outgoing shipments with precision.
Responsibilities
- Maintain stockroom inventory database and records.
- Keep stockroom clean, organized, and clearly identify parts as instructed.
- Fulfill material issue requests promptly and accurately, delivering requested materials to designated locations.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Receive shipments and verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Inspect incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify issues.
- Route items to appropriate receivers or designated stockroom locations.
- Assemble shipping containers or boxes and pack items carefully as instructed.
- Measure, weigh, and count items for outgoing shipments.
- Prepare packing lists and shipping labels, ensuring correct documentation accompanies shipments.
- Determine appropriate shipping methods based on system hardware and project requirements.

Work Environment
The role is based in an engineering and production environment located in Columbia, MD, with some remote work possible. Work hours are Monday to Friday during normal business hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
