Job Title: Junior/Mid-Level Software Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking junior or mid-level software engineers to support our rapidly growing Department of the Navy development and modernization programs. This role involves maintaining and updating the existing source code and functionality of a Naval Weapons System. Responsibilities include verifying issues reported as Problem Reports, investigating software fixes, implementing and testing those fixes, and integrating them back into the system. We seek self-starters capable of independent effort as well as participation on a small team. This is a permanent, full-time position located on-site in our Research and Development Lab in Columbia, Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update existing source code and functionality of the Naval Weapons System.
• Verify issues reported as Problem Reports against the Weapons System.
• Investigate, implement, and test software fixes.
• Integrate software fixes back into the system.
• Work independently and as part of a small team to achieve project goals.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience with C++ in a professional setting.
• Experience in software development, debugging, fixing, and testing legacy code.
• Must possess a DoD Secret clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
• Experience with Java.
• Experience with Linux.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in an office setting in Columbia, Maryland. The work will be performed on-site in our Research and Development Lab, providing a collaborative environment where team members can share insights and solve complex problems together.
