Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the design, development, and manufacturing of highly complex and regulated automotive gas and airflow systems. This role requires collaboration with external suppliers and vendors to ensure all engineering and manufacturing requirements are met efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in overseeing the entire product lifecycle from initial concept through to full design integration into larger automotive systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with engineering and manufacturing requirements.
• Design mechanical components and systems including air, gas, pressurized, and exhaust systems.
• Conduct high-level CAD oversight and perform CAD reviews with the design team.
• Own the product lifecycle from initial concept through complete design integration into automotive systems.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and other process engineering analyses to identify and resolve system failures.
• Work on redesigning existing technology platforms as well as developing new design efforts.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical design and development for automotive components.
• Experience with air and gas systems, exhaust systems, and pressurized environments.
• Familiarity with mechanical engineering design tools, especially CAD (though not required to perform detailed design work).
• Experience in dealing with suppliers and vendors for outsourced engineering design and manufacturing.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-10 years of active experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience overseeing CAD work and conducting reviews using CAD tools, with NX being a plus.
• Experience with weldments, cast components, and flexible lines in mechanical engineering.

Work Environment

This position is based in an office environment, providing a collaborative space for teamwork and innovation in automotive engineering.

This is a Contract position based out of Hagerstown, MD.

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $70.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Hagerstown,MD.
