Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector with an A&P license to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a repair station environment, with the ability to inspect aircraft maintenance comprehensively from nose to tail. This role involves ensuring all modifications are completed according to engineering drawings and blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Inspect government aircraft undergoing various upgrades and modifications.
- Ensure structural and electrical modifications are accurate according to engineering blueprints/schematics, incorporating all materials per the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Author engineering change requests as necessary.
- Complete required aircraft releases for modification and airworthiness.
- Draft necessary documentation related to STC installations.
- Perform weight and balance calculations per the Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH).
- Review Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs) to ensure compliance when required.
- Update and review aircraft life-limited items according to manufacturer's Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) Chapter 4.
- Brief and debrief the flight crew during calibration flights.
- Inspect all fabricated parts (mechanical and electrical) per engineering blueprints/schematics.
- Conduct First Article Inspections in compliance with repair station quality standards.
Essential Skills
- A&P license.
- 5+ years of experience in aircraft quality inspection, including airworthiness and return to service.
- Proficiency in nose-to-tail aircraft inspection.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in avionics or structural inspection.
- Modification inspection experience preferred.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a hangar environment at a 145 repair station, characterized by a fast-paced atmosphere. Employees are assigned specific tasks and work orders with designated timelines. The dress code is casual, consisting of jeans, a t-shirt, and steel-toed shoes. There are two shifts available: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM and 2:00 PM – 1:00 AM. Overtime is not currently mandatory, but employees typically work 50-55 hours a week, with weekends available.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Hagerstown, MD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $46.00 - $48.00/hr.
